We’re going to let you in on a secret!

Do you know what is the biggest catalyst to a healthy body and mind?

IT"S YOUR BREATH

Anchal Pilani

Scientifically, the depth of the breath is directly proportional to the health of our cardiovascular, nervous, digestive system or our gut microbiome. We breathe close to 17000 times a day. If this breath does not employ key organs such as the diaphragm, then we are fueling the aging & degeneration mechanism of our body & mind.

Yoga Nidra – The Approach & Benefits

Breath & the Nervous System: The breath and the nervous system are intrinsically interconnected. When our breath isn't regulated or deep, we slowly brew a plethora of lifestyle disorders. Every breath signals the body to move in synergy with the nervous system. We just must train our breath to reprogram our nervous system, thus fueling our brain.

Brain & the Breath: The only fuel the brain needs is a clean breath & glucose. If we breathe poorly, we are causing changes in brain function. If we want an optimum brain, better cognitive function, better motor function, breathwork is vital.

Breath & the Mind: The biggest section in any book store is for self - help. Further, the number of books in this section have to do with the mind. It’s an eye-opening lesson to understand how our breath moves when we are in stages of deep concentration. Through breathwork practice, we can re-engineer our mind to greater heights. Ultimately, unleashing a different version in us.

Vagus Nerve: The vagus Nerve is the momma nerve of the Parasympathetic system. The vagus nerve is responsible for the regulation of internal organ functions, such as digestion, heart rate, and respiratory rate, as well as vasomotor activity, and certain reflex actions, such as coughing, sneezing, swallowing, and vomiting. Nidra & breathwork targets this cranial nerve, offsetting the perils of modern day living.

Your Posture & the Breath: Did you know that a slight variation in your posture rewires your stress hormones, immunity, Co2 elimination, and gut microbiome? Understand why we must do certain mobility exercises to strengthen the pillars of the body.

Nidra & Yog Nidra: Nidra is sleeping with tension. Yog Nidra is sleeping without any tension! This is blissful, higher quality sleep. We are so tired, we go to bed and think it's relaxing for us. But unless we are free of muscular, mental & emotional tensions, we are never relaxed. The practice of yog nidra is the scientific method of removing these tensions.

Training the mind to become aware: During concentration, we know we are concentrating, but when we are in a state of yog nidra, there comes a moment when we do not even know we are in nidra. When the mind dissociates from all sensory channels, it becomes very powerful, but needs training. In Yog nidra we train the mind by taking it through a series of practices which bring about the desired state of awareness.
